As Danny Ainge chose him for the Utah Jazz, Ace Bailey’s pre-draft strategy to control his future didn’t work.
Ace Bailey is a Utah Jazz player. Because the franchise chose him for the fifth overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Rutgers guard had a unique strategy ahead of the NBA Draft as Bailey refused to work out or interview with several teams.
NBA fans weren’t happy with Bailey’s approach.
The Wizard had his eyes on Bailey in #6, but Danny Ainge decided that it was no problem for Bailey to refuse to interview him, so he chose him.
Now, as Bailey goes to a team that isn’t on his favorite destination list, fans believe his approach has failed spectacularly.
All the NBA fans responded to Ace Bailey by winning X and went to the Utah Jazz incredible ways. One fan just wrote, “his worst landing spot.”
Another fan made this a learning experience, claiming, “We can’t force a path to a team. Welcome to the NBA.”
As one person said, not everyone was excited.
However, another fan praised Jazz president Danny Ainge for not acquiescing Bailey’s efforts. “I knew Utah wouldn’t mind not training with him.
One fan attempted to project his wild future, saying, “It’s either a very good or a bust.”
Another fan questioned whether Ace would repeat the NFL great moves and asked, “Is he trying to pull Ellimanning?”
Fans didn’t expect Bailey to go to Jazz, but there was hope that he would move elsewhere. But Rutgers Guard doesn’t go anywhere.
Some outlets have reported that the Jazz is not going to trade him, and Bailey is on the roster for the near future.
Bailey may not be where he wanted to go, but now he has to focus on the game. He sparked a lot of controversy for his attempts to manipulate the draft.
There is a lot he has to do to prove that he is right to believe in himself. In jazz, Bailey needs to stand out more than any other star.
Luckily, he has the talent to do just that.
