Iga Swiatek’s Wimbledon Championship lifted her to third place in the WTA rankings on Monday, with Amanda Anishimova’s runner-up allowing the Americans to break into the top 10 for the first time in seventh place.

A year ago, Anishimova was ranked 189th and was unable to automatically enter the All England Club field. There she tried to qualify, but lost. This year, Anishimoba was seeded at Wimbledon, reaching the first Grand Slam final, defeating first-place Arena Sabalenka in the semi-finals, losing 6-0, 6-0.

“I see it and it’s like, ‘Oh, amazing.’ It’s kind of shock at first and I can’t really handle it.

She climbed from No. 12.

“So it’s a very special and surreal feeling to be in the top 10,” Anishimova said. “If you think of yourself last year, if someone says I’m going to break the top 10 now, I don’t know. That would be pretty surprising given where I was last summer.”

Swiatek has been number one for most of the last three seasons, but has finished eighth last month for the year without reaching the tournament final. Before Wimbledon pushed her to fourth place, he held the final in the Grass Court Tournament, and now she’s another place after collecting the sixth major trophy.

Sabalenka stayed at the top of the women’s rankings, followed by CocoGoff, the French Open Champion who lost in the first round at Wimbledon.

Laura Siegemund jumped 50 spots for his biggest improvement on Monday by reaching the quarterfinals.

The biggest fall was 2024 Wimbledon champion Barbora Klezikova, who slid 62 places from 16th to 78th after a bow in the third round.

Jannik Sinner remained first in the ATP after his first title at Wimbledon, fourth in the Grand Slam tournament. Two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, who lost in Sunday’s final, remained in the second place rankings.

Semi-finalist Taylor Fritz traded for Jack Draper and moved from fifth to fourth. Flavio Koboli’s debut in the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam – he lost that round to Novak Djokovic – bringing the 23-year-old Italian to the top 20 for the first time, moving from 24th to 19th.

Ben Shelton went up to 1st and 9th, and Andrei Lubrevillev went from 4th to 10th.
