One of The Combat Sports Block’s newest children, the Dirty Boxing Championship, is back on Saturday, March 22nd.
Former UFC middleweight Joel Romero and former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovsky will appear in DBX1 main and co-main events, respectively. The 14 Battle cards take place inside the hangar at Regatta Harbor in Miami.
Romero will face former Cage Titan heavyweight champion Russ Halton, while Arlovsky will face MMA veteran Terrance Hodges. The event features many UFC veterans, including Oluwale Bamgbose, Maurice Greene and Mike Breeden.
DBX arrived at the scene in 2024 and held a pilot event last November. This led Romero to win Duane Crespo with his first TKO. After the pilot event passed in flying colors, DBX’s team is ready for the promotional global launch, with DBX1 being set up to be streamed free worldwide on numerous platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and X.
In an increasingly crowded sports landscape led by Mike ‘Platinum’ Perry, DBX believes its unique set of rules will hook fans and ensure the level of action they want more. The ruleset is a blend of MMA and boxing. Fighters compete in custom-built rings wearing 4 ounce gloves. The round lasts for three minutes. Elbows are legal and just like the ground and pounds, so when the strike starts landing, you’ll lift your hips because you haven’t been robbed of your knees with the DBX.
