Charles Barkley writes down LeBron James from the goat argument, as he can’t do what Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant can.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James concluded the 22nd season of his NBA career despite his team being eliminated in the opening round.
LBJ is 40 years old and apparently plays with injuries. It’s understandable that he couldn’t carry the Lakers beyond the first round.
But let’s put that aside for a while and focus on James’ case for a goat discussion. Over the years, the 4X NBA champion has transformed many critics into fans, but NBA legend Charles Barkley is not among them.
Berkley recently turned his head after ranking James as the seventh basketball player of all time. However, Chuck has not yet downplayed the legacy of LBJ in the league.
“Inside the NBA” analysts recently appeared on the Spittin’ Chicklets Podcast as James pointed out why he never outperforms Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant in a goat debate.
“The difference between Michael, LeBron and Kobe – first of all, they’re three of the best players ever, but LeBron is a good guy,” Berkley said.
He added: “I’ve never said s___ about Michael and Kobe. I’ve never said, ‘Man, that’s Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, they’re good people.” ”
As far as praise and record goes, Kobe, MJ and Bron are difficult to separate. However, Berkley argues that the difference is between Kobe and Jordan’s approach to the game.
In addition to his answer to the goat argument, Berkley believes James cannot learn the instincts of MJ and Kobe killer.
“Michael and Kobe, they were dangerous. They killed your a__. LeBron is great, but he’s a good guy. He had to learn to be competitive… They’ll kill you to kill you,” continued Berkley.
“He wants to win, but LeBron is a really nice guy at the end of the day. So you can’t learn to be a natural-born murderer,” he concluded.
Certainly there are plenty of stories about the killer instincts of Jordan and Bryant. But are you using James as a “nice guy” against him? That’s an overwhelming argument.
