Tsunoda has shared his first message since winning a dream promotion for the Red Bull F1 team.
Red Bull decided to demote Liam Lawson and replace Tsuda in just two races in the 2025 Formula 1 season.
Tsunoda will become Max Burstappen’s fifth teammate since 2018 and make his Red Bull debut at his home race, the Japanese Grand Prix next weekend.
The 24-year-old Japanese driver had overlooked his seat at Red Bull three months ago when Lawson nodded before him as Sergio Perez’s replacement.
However, Tsunoda will earn his dream shot with the Red Bull senior team after spending more than four seasons with the Racing Bulls, who will return for the rest of the campaign.
In a video shared by the Racing Bulls on social media, Tsunoda said:
“I’m staying at the Red Bull family so I’m not far away. I’ll see you guys around the paddock.”
In another video where he was wearing his new Red Bull team kit, Tsunoda added:
Racing Bulls is proud of Yuki Tsunoda
Laurent Mekies, principal of the Racing Bulls team, spoke of Tsunoda’s pride following an exit from the Faenza-based team.
“We are extremely proud that Yuki has acquired the deserved move for Oracle Red Bull Racing! His progress has been sensational since last year, and more recently, since the start of 2025. Personally and collectively, it was a great privilege for all of us at Faenza and Milton Keynes to witness those progress,” Mekies said.
“Syuki’s energy and positivity brightens up every corner of the factory and garage, and he’s always racing-built!
On Lawson’s return, Mekies added:
“He fits very well last year and we can’t wait to challenge ourselves and grow as a team. ISACK is already starting to be very strong with us, so we know we have a young and strong lineup.”
