Indian team spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has broken his silence on ex-wife Dhanashree Verma’s cheating allegations, calling them baseless and exhausting. He said that if they had cheated early on, their relationship would not have lasted as long as it did, adding that he has moved on with his life.
On the OTT show Rise and Fall, Dhanashree alleged that Chahal cheated on her just two months after their marriage. In a conversation with fellow contestant Kubbra Saito, the choreographer revealed the moment he realized his marriage was falling apart, sparking attention and discussion on social media platforms.

However, Yuzvendra Chahal denied his ex-wife’s cheating allegations. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Chahal said the issue was “over” and stressed that the relationship would not have lasted long.

“I’m an athlete and I don’t cheat. What happens to the relationship if someone cheats within 2 months?(Would the relationship have lasted this long if someone had cheated within the first two months?) For me, this chapter is over, done, and the dust has cleared. I have moved on with my life and others should do the same” he said.
Chahal and Dhanashree first connected during the COVID-19 lockdown. Spinner enrolled in her online dance class and their relationship quickly developed, culminating in their marriage on December 22, 2020. However, the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai granted the divorce on March 20, 2025.

Yuzvendra Chahal said their marriage lasted four and a half years. He noted that some people remain stuck in the past, adding that they are unaffected by lingering speculation. The cricketer said this was the last time he would address the issue.

Yuzvendra Chahal has not been part of the Indian national team since August 2023. He was part of the team that participated in the 2024 T20 World Cup, but did not play in any matches. A leg spinner who is active in domestic and international cricket.
Chahal played for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2025 and took 16 wickets at an average of 26.87. He also returned to county cricket with Northamptonshire, representing them in both the 2025 County Championship and One Day Cup.
After his separation from Dhanashree Verma, his personal life was in the spotlight off the field. Rumors of their relationship spread after they were spotted together with RJ Mahabash at the Champions Trophy final in Dubai. However, Mahavash clarified that the two are just friends.
