NBA Insider claims that the New Orleans Pelican will seriously compete for Giannis Antetocompo in the offseason.
In their third consecutive season, the Milwaukee Bucks were unable to impress in the NBA playoffs as they were eliminated in the first round at the hands of the Indiana Pacers.
Bucks’ early exit could have great results for future franchises in the form of 2x NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Although Antetokounmpo has remained true to the Bucks throughout his career, he feels like he’s wasting his prime at this point. As a result, the rumored factory suggests that Giannis and the Bucks will have mutual discussions about his future in the offseason.
If Antetokounmpo’s caliber players become available for trade, it must lead to a bid war among all NBA franchises.
The Brooklyn net is now considered a favorite to land Greek freaks if they demand trade, but NBA insider Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson recently reported that New Orleans Pelicans are also expected to show interest in him.
“A source says the new Pelican president of basketball operations will be able to meet Zeon Williamson in the near future as the franchise continues to appreciate the future,” Robinson wrote.
He added: “If Milwaukee chooses to explore trade options, Zeon said it could be very common on the table with potential Giannis trades.”
The Antetokounmpo deal is one thing, but in the process, the breakup with franchise star Zion Williamson is quite different. But is that really a surprise? It’s definitely not.
When he is healthy, there is no doubt that Shion is one of the most dominant players on the court. Unfortunately, the Pelicans have barely seen Williamson’s version during their tenure with the team.
Even during the 2024-25 NBA season, Williamson was limited to just 30 games due to a lot of injuries issues.
With that in mind, Robinson reported: “This is not just speculation. There’s been an internal frustration between Zion and the Pelican ownership, and while Dumars gets a chance to sit down and read Zion’s in person, it’s said that the deal, where the previous overall pick was caught up in this offseason, is very important.”
With Williamson missing the majority of the season, it wasn’t a surprise that the Pelicans finished as the 14th seed in the conference with an Abyssmal 21-61 record.
