Pakistan faces West Indies The first of the three-match T20I series. This article provides details regarding West Indies playing 11 vs Pakistan in the first match of the series.

West Indies Playing 11 vs Pakistan – 1st T20i, Pakistan Tour West Indies 2025:

Opener: Brandon King, Shayhope (C&WK)

The hosts saw the three-match T20I series against Pakistan as an opportunity to rightfully see the team failed to face Australia in the recently concluded T20I series.

The home team wanted captain Shay Hope to lead head-on again, as he did for most of the match against Australia, but the outcome was not in favor of his team.

The West Indies, along with the captain, wanted to improve their batting efforts in the final five overs. This is because it was in the inning stage when the middle and low batters failed to capitalize.

That being said, it is not expected to bring about any change in the batting lineup that won the field in the final T20I against Australia, at least in the first T20I against Pakistan.

If the incident is like that, the West Indies will open a batting with Brendon King and Captain Shay Hope.

The duo were able to lead their teams to an offensive start in the first six overs, and individually got big scores under the belt.

Intermediate batters and all-arounds: Roston Chase, Simron Hezzia, Roveman Powell, Sharfan Rutherford, Romario Shepherd, Jason Holder

One of the biggest concerns for the hosts is the indifferent form of the mid-term order of the team, including Roston Chase, Shimron Hetmyer, Rovam Powell and others.

The trio failed to take advantage of the platform built by the opener. This is one of the main reasons for standard batting performance in the mid- and final five overs of the West Indies.

Team managers hope that the situation in the series’ opening match against Pakistan will change.

This responsibility lies with intermediate batters to lead the team to what can prove to be a match-winning total.

Bowlers: Gudakesh Motie, Akeal Hosein, Jediah Blades

Like indie batting, team bowling struggled with middle overs in terms of choosing wickets.

Things like Jason Holder and Akeal Hosein were able to put pressure on the power play by stabbing the flow of the run, but the bowlers of change have put a good job back on.

That being said, it is expected that the homeside will be in the same combination as the four specialist bowlers who played in their final series with Australia.

The first bowling division is handled by Jason Holder and Jedia Blade, while the Romario Shepherd is the third fast bowler, while the spin bowling division is taken care of by Gudakeshmotier and Aquil Hosin.
