The results were updated after a 16-second low tire pressure penalty from the HRC wildcard Aleix Espargaro, dropping him from the 14th to the 17th.

It was painful and ecstasy for the Marquez brothers at the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix, and while title leader Mark crashed early, his younger brother Alex claimed to win his debut MotoGP.
After finishing the third runner-up GP of this season, Alex’s very appropriate victory was Ducati’s 22nd Premier class victory, comparable to Honda’s records in 1997-87.
Grecini Rider also claimed his 200th victory in the Spanish premier class, but the delighted Cartalaro celebrated his first podium with Yamaha since 2023.
Francesco Bagnaia held back third another strong race by KTM’s Maverick Vinales.
To complete Alex’s Dream Day, he retook the lead in the MotoGP title.
On the explosive opening lap, Cartararo converted the pole into a race lead, and Bagnaia jumped ahead of his teammate Marc Marquez (who appeared to be struggling with his hole shot device).
Alex approached cutting his brother straight into his back before Mark and Bagnaia tapped him on the shoulder in the stadium section as the Italians refused the field.
Mark’s victory ended when he lost the front on turn 8 on lap 4, rejoining the 22-second decline.
On a damaged bike, Marquez was often the fastest rider in orbit, as he tickled the field to 12th place with a checkered flag.
The pressure on Marquez’s tires could have been set for clear air in the race lead, which may have contributed to his fall.
Alex Marquez succeeded where his brothers were unable to pass Bagnaia in the second, winning the brake bedake Quartararro to get the lead on turn 1 of 25 laps 11.
While Alex was away, Quartarraro held back his former title rival Bagnaia.
The trio was closed, but in the end no passes were made.
Fabio di Giannantonio of VR46 Ducati was in a lonely fifth place, but Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta made three KTMs in the top 7.
Fermin Aldeguer, Franco Morbidelli and Joan Mir joined Marquez in a crash, Jack Miller suffered from technical issues, and Somkiat Chantra retired with arm pumps.
After the soft rear tires for the sprint, all riders used it for the 25 lap Grand Prix.
Aleix Espargaro had debuted as a wildcard with Honda MotoGP running prototype parts on his RC213V this weekend.
Aprilia’s Triple MOTOGP winner, Espargaro, has switched to HRC Test duties after resigning as a full-time rider late last year.
Espargaro was under investigation due to low tire pressure after crossing the line on the 14th.
Jorge Martin’s Qatar injury means test rider Lorenzo Sabadri has once again replaced Aprilia’s incumbent world champion.
Yamaha test rider Augusto Fernandez similarly faced off against Pramac injured Miguel Oliveira for the third event.
The MOTOGP test for the first official season of the 2025 season will be held in Jerez on Monday.
