Journalist Belen Cross has provided important injury information regarding Leeds United’s key players ahead of the Premier League game against Burnley.
Falke predicts ‘close match’ between Burnley and Leeds
The Whites travel to Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon knowing that this result could ultimately be key to their relegation battle in May.
Leeds manager Daniel Farke told the media ahead of the weekend’s game that he expected a “close game” away against the Clarets.
“We want to go there with a good performance. So, again, Burnley, what they did last season is great. We’ve also had a good start to the season, especially in terms of performance, and we’re expecting a pretty, pretty tight and competitive game. Of these four games until the next international break, we’ll be looking to pick up as many points as possible again.”
“I think it’s a difficult period. With three away games and only one home game, we’re progressing step by step. So for now we’re just focused on this game against Burnley and giving ourselves the chance to get points again with our best performance.”
Falke will be keen to use as many players as possible for Saturday’s match and looks set to bring key players back into the squad following new updates from Thorp Arch.
Leeds’ shocking injury updates shared
Speaking on X, Cross claimed Leeds winger Dan James has made “immense progress” in his recovery from injury and “that’s what’s going to happen.”Falke said in the pre-match press conference that he could join the Turf Moor squad.
“Very positive and good news for Daniel James. Kudos to our medical department and also to our rehab coaches because he’s a little ahead of schedule with his rehabilitation. I’d say he’s already taken part in a major part of team training this week, but he’s definitely not in contention for a spot in the starting lineup.”
James’ return will feel like a huge blow for Leeds. For Leeds, he is one of the most important signings for his blistering pace and growing maturity, despite looking to score his first Premier League goal this season.
The £75,000-a-week ace has the winning ability to decide what is expected to be a close away game against Burnley, and his mere presence in the squad will improve the Whites’ chances of victory, even if he is an impactful substitute.
