Former UFC fighter Darrick Minner was suspended for 29 months by the Nevada Athletics Committee on Tuesday after failing to report injuries prior to the 2022 fight, investigating betting fraud involving coach James Kraus.

Minner was first suspended along with Krause in December 2022, but he reached an arbitrage agreement with the Nevada Attorney General, who was voted and approved by the committee at the monthly meeting.

The 34-year-old veteran also has to pay $235.56 in prosecutors’ fees, but his suspension has been retroactive and as of March 26th he is actually allowed to return to action.

The investigation into the irregularity of the bet began after Minar was defeated in November 2022 by first round TKO at UFC Vegas 64. Suspicion was raised after the events shifted dramatically, and after bets for the fight shifted dramatically before Minnah lost a massive underdog.

As a result, both Minner and Krause were suspended as investigations began as some well-known sportsbooks actually refused to place bets on the UFC.

The UFC moved quickly to cut Minner’s relationship with Klaus, helping to investigate potential betting scandals.

Minner was released from the contract, but Krause was effectively banned from having all connections to the UFC. This included warnings that fighters who continued working with coaches and former fighters would also be removed from the promotion.

“The UFC advises that Klaus and their respective managers are working with fighters affected. Fighters that have been enforced soon will not be permitted to participate in the UFC events to hold off on the results of the aforementioned government investigation.”

Minner and his teammate Jeff Molina were both facing punishment from the Nevada State Athletics Board, but the bigger issue with stake irregularities was actually considered a criminal investigation. UFC CEO Dana White spoke about Fallout in December 2022.

“Do you know what the outcome of this is?” White said. “If I punish them, they’ll be cut off. They’re going to chase federal prisons – federal prisons.

It is still unclear whether the criminal investigation has produced results, but for now it is clear that Minner will resume his career after March 26, based on a suspension reported by the Nevada State Athletics Board.
