Alex Pereira has returned to coach Magomed Ankaraev after accusing him of grease at UFC 313.

Pereira (12-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) lost a light heavyweight title to Ankalaev (21-1-1 MMA, 12-1-1 UFC) due to unanimous decision at the main event in Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.

In an interview with Ushatayka, Ankalaev’s director Sukhrab Magomedov accused Pereira of being sticky and having ointment on his body to help him protect the takedown. He even argued that Pereira’s leader, Glover Teisheira, is known to oil.

Pereira packed all 12 of Ankaraev’s takedowns, but denies trying to gain unfair advantage.

“I never put anything on my body,” Pereira said through an interpreter on the “Ariel Helwani Show.” “The way his coach is putting it seems like he’s trying to make excuses to justify the fact that he trained a man to beat me, but the man was stuffed for 12 of his takedown attempts.

“I also have to ask my coach if I put oil and petroleum jelly on the mat, because Ankaraev fell on my back? My career is very good.”

Pereira and Ankalaev are expected to have a rematch, and UFC CEO Dana White has confirmed that it will likely happen. Even Ankalaev admitted that “Poatan” is best for shots.
