Conor McGregor has no business with Michael Chandler.
After competing with the former Bellator champion in the Ultimate Fighter in 2023, McGregor was scheduled to face “Iron” in UFC 303. Unfortunately, the fight never happened after “Mystic Mac” bowed for the broken Pinky’s toe.
The fight was never rebooked, and it looked like a rap of a very forgotten feud between McGregor and Chandler. At least that was until Chandler was attacked by Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314 in March.
Suddenly, McGregor has once again “unfinished business” with Chandler.
Fighting fans will undoubtedly still be tuned to see McGregor and Chandler putting their hands on MMA’s biggest stage, but there’s no “business” between the two struggling scratchers. It’s coming, according to Chael Sonnen, who suggested in a recent YouTube video that McGregor has an opportunity to solve things with Chandler. Now that time has passed.
“(Connor says) “I’m coming back, I have an unfinished business with Michael Chandler,” so let me stop you there,” Sonnen said. “You and Chandler have no business. You’ve done a series of ultimate fighters that were very poorly rated.
“You want to get a stadium against the same opponent you’ve signed and didn’t show up. I know Michael Chandler, I’m friends with Michael Chandler, you don’t have business with Michael Chandler.”
Conor McGregor’s UFC Returns still have plenty of options
The ship may have sailed in a showdown between McGregor and Chandler, but if he doesn’t get serious about returning to the Octagon, there are plenty of options available to previous Champion Champs.
That includes the guy who just posted Michael Chandler’s butt from the pillar.
