Former West Ham United manager Julen Lopetegi will be announced as the new manager of the Qatar national team.
The Spanish tactician has lost his job since being fired by West Ham earlier this season and has started the season badly.
Lopetegui was previously impressed in the Premier League during his stint in charge of the wolves, but also had a major job with Real Madrid and the Spanish national team.
But now he is directed towards an interesting new challenge as Qatar’s famous appointment, according to the Daily Mail.
After a terrible West Ham spell, Julen Lopetegi returns to management
Lopetegui could be a great plan for Qatar as Qatar is about to make progress in the international scene, and it is probably not surprising that the 58-year-old struggled to find work at another big club after a disastrous mission at London Stadium.
But to be fair to Lopetegui, it was generally a poor season for West Ham, which hasn’t improved much since Graham Potter replaced the Spaniard as manager.
Saying goodbye to David Moet last summer looks like a hammer mistake.
West Ham suffers after poor signature
West Ham has problems in many areas, but their recruitment has probably been their single biggest problem these days.
Lopetegui likely did not control the transfer in large quantities during his stay as manager, and Tim Steidten has been seeking a lot of criticism, especially there.
A lot of money was spent on flops like Niklas Fullkrag, Max Kilman and Aaron Wang Bissaka.
