Romano points out that Liverpool’s renewed interest in Ekitique is directly linked to Darwin Nunes’ uncertain future.

Liverpool is focusing on new strikers
After these two deals, their focus will change to signing new strikers who can lead the attack this summer.
They were linked to several attackers this summer, including Victor Osimchen, but Romano claims Eintracht Frankfurt’s Ekitique is a concrete target for them.

“Since Liverpool is waiting to find a solution for Darwin Nunes. Darwin is expected to leave Liverpool. Napoli is in contact with the player’s camp, so Napoli is on board.
“There’s also interest from more European clubs, but there’s also interest from the Saudi Arabian club. Darwin was the top target for the Saudi Arabian club in January. Darwin remains the target of the Saudi club’s transfer window this summer.
“And let’s follow the situation with Darwin Nunes, because once Darwin leaves, Ekitique is a concrete target for Liverpool.”
Hugo Ekitike was impressed with Bundesliga
Ekitique emerged as one of Europe’s most promising young strikers and became prominent at the Bundesliga club.
The attacker showed quality with 22 goals for a German club last season, as well as 12 assists showing his creativity.
Frankfurt is reportedly demanding about 100 million euros for his signature. This requires Reds to pay another large relocation fee after Wirtz’s imminent signing.
If Liverpool can sign a deal, Ekitike will be the latest in a series of impactful summer signatures as the Reds look to refresh their team and maintain their Premier League advantage.
