"I’m Here to Dominate, Not Just Knock Out Jamahal Hill” - Khalil Rountree Talks UFC Baku Main Event

Khalil Rountree Jr. is not looking for a simple KO against Jamahal Hill.

Warhorse will return to the Octagon this Saturday for his second consecutive headlining at UFC Baku in Azerbaijan. So, Rountree Jr. could climb back to the Win column and return to pole position for a shot in the light heavyweight title. Of course, that’s not an easy task as he’s set up to line the hills. This is a fighter with x to grind and x to prove something.

As nine career knockouts become his credits and Rountree Jr. step into the cage, combat fans are always in store for fireworks. But he doesn’t just come to put “sweet dreams” to sleep faster. He’s coming to issue a statement.

“I know I have power, but it’s not just power. It’s smart, technical and not making mistakes,” Rountree Jr. said on UFC Baku Media. “I’ve done a lot with my defense, footwork and patience. I’m not just looking for a knockout. I want to dominate.”

To show why Rountree Jr. is one of the world’s best light heavyweights

Rountree Jr. knows that it’s not an easy task, as it takes on a hungry fighter just like him.

“Jamahar is a very strong opponent, he is a former champion and I know he has some defeats. I know he’s hungry. But I’m hungry too. I don’t just show up here and get paid.

Before he was short on former light heavyweight King Alex Pereira in October, “The War Horse” gathered five consecutive victories, including highlight reel finishes against Modestas Bukauskas, Karl Roberson, Chris Daukaus and Anthony ‘Lionheart’ Smith.

Meanwhile, Jamahar Hill entered the contest as he suffered from a brutal succession of KOs against “Poatan” and Jiri Prochazuka.
