Superstar Mookie Betts has fallen out of the Los Angeles ‘ starting lineup ahead of the three-game set against the Chicago White Sox.

Manager Dave Roberts claimed he was taking a “spiritual day” as a reason why his shortstop is out of Tuesday’s lineup.

“A spiritual day.”

Betts has hit .249 with OPS+’s 99 this season, slightly below league average.

The superstar is unrecognizable by elite productions of the past few years, especially in his last 20 games. Betts is batting .175/.241/.263 with the .504 OPS, struck 12 times and drives in 9 runs in 80 at-bats.

When Betts was in touch this season, it didn’t line up as his past numbers.

He ranks in the 20th percentile of active batters with hard hit rates (balls hit faster than 95 mph), with an average exit speed of 88.4 being the 27th percentile in MLB. Betts averaged exit speed last season at 89.9, or the 64th percentile of the show.

Betts brings great value per diamond with a strikeout rate of just 10.2%, making it suitable for the 97th percentile of majors.

A clear flaw in Betts’ game this season is the way he handles breaking balls. In 2024, the Superstar was able to hit these products on an average of .250, but that number plunged to an average of .139 when the destruction ball was thrown.

To add context, Betts hits Offspeed Pitch with .324 clips and hits fastballs on an average of .299.

Anyway, Betts will remain one of the pillars of the organization, and hopes he will be rejuvenated from his days off and ready to get out of his poor performance.
