West Ham United’s offensive struggle has become an urgent concern, and despite Hammer’s positive investment, he has been unable to find consistency in front of the goal.
There was high hopes when the club brought in Niklas Fullkrag and Evan Ferguson, but both strikers struggle to make the impact Hammer predicted.
Arrived with a physical presence and reputation as a clinical finisher, Fullkrug has failed to adapt to the pace of the Premier League, cutting up the often isolated figures ahead of time, and transforming some clear opportunities that have come his way.
Hailed as one of the brightest young strikers in England, Ferguson failed to score a hammer last season.
West Ham struggles with goals from a striker
The lack of cutting edge has made West Ham overreliant on goals from midfield and wide areas, making it predictable on attacks and more likely to negate opponents.
Manager Graham Potter is ready to solve that problem this summer in the transfer market.
West Ham United is exploring the moves of Sassolo striker Andrea Pinamonti, who is trying to deal with their goalscoring struggle ahead of the new season, according to respected Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio.
DiMarzio reports that he has investigated the availability of the 26-year-old forward, who is expected to leave Sassoro.
Hammer faces a race to sign Andrea Pinamonty
The report states that Brentford has expressed interest in Italian strikers, indicating that West Ham could face competition from Premier League rivals to pursue Pinamonti’s signature.
Pinamonty scored 10 goals in Genoa’s Serie A last season, lending it out of the Sass River and showing his ability to provide even in challenging situations.
Given their luck with West Ham strikers, they will be happy to take that return from Italian strikers in the Premier League next season.
