Major League Baseball’s trading deadline is more than a week away, with rumors swirling about which teams will decide to sell and therefore which players will be available.

With just eight days left to the end of trading season, here are four predictions on how the 2025 deadline will shake up.

1. The Yankees will acquire pitchers for Eugenio Suarez and Diamondbacks

The Yankees desperately need a third base hand, and nothing is better in the market than Eugenios Ares of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Suarez entered Wednesday, with .254/.325/.598 slashing 36 home runs and 86 runs.

But that’s not all.

The Yankees also need help starting pitchers, and Diamondback has two pitchers, Zack Gallen and Meryl Kelly. The Yankees will package one of them in Suarez to complete what will be the biggest blockbuster of deadlines as New York competes with the Blue Jays for the American League East Crown.

2. Padres Trade Dylan will stop and add multiple bats to active deadlines

The Padres will be a major buyer at this year’s deadline. Because they are not only thick in wildcard races, but they can defeat the to beat the National League West.

However, due to their financial constraints, the Padres buy while emitting wages, and Dylan will be stopped by candidates who need pitching to meet their outdoor needs (Jarlen Duran’s Boston Red Sox outlook will be stopped). The suspension is an expiration agreement with a $13.75 million deal.

But predictions don’t stop there.

The Padres not only add one bat (probably Duran), but also a bench bat that can be a better pinch hit option for one of the two catchers throughout the season. The Padres don’t add a catcher – instead lends the bank to the bank for continuity with the pitching staff, but there’s another batter who takes a big batter when 9th place appears in the lineup later in the game.

3. The best pitcher traded by the Cubs at deadline lands

The Cubs are all this season and could be the only year of Chicago’s only free agent, Kyle Tucker. The Cubs are offensive when adding the top starter to their rotation, and will ultimately trade the best pitchers at deadlines.

But it’s too early to tell who it will be.

It could be Sandy Alcantara who pitched seven innings on Wednesday without allowing him to run against the Padres.

That could be Mackenzie Gore. McKenzie Gore will be a surprise addition to the struggling Washingtonian deadline pool.

This season, it could be Jo Ryan, the twin ace who has 2.63 ERAs and 10.2 strikeouts per nine innings.

The Cubs have a lead capital for anyone to get, and they swing big to put themselves back in the World Series for the first time since 2016.

4. The get a relief bar, but no one speaks

The are linked to all big names bailers in the trade market, including Emmanuel Crace, Ryan Healthley and Joan Duran, but that’s not the president of Andrew Friedman Rawls of the baseball business.

Friedman lets us know that he dislikes buying on deadline due to empty prices. Adding a relief bar is expensive enough to get it.

The have no choice in dealing with the reliever, especially with the team’s $72 million offseason addition Tanner Scott hit IL. However, the are not going to overpay for the big name.

Instead, they’re going to add the guy who scouted someone who has a rise to turn into a rescuer during shutdown of this team.

One name to watch out for: Anthony Bender of the Miami Marlins. He has 1.91 ERAs in more than 43 appearances and will remain under the team’s management until 2028.
