Liverpool’s left back Andrew Robertson was a “strong candidate” in the Atletico Madrid transfer market this summer.
However, it seems now that Scotland International will likely remain at Anfield now, with the move to Atletico appearing to be off the table.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano explained that Robertson’s future could be something to watch again as he is waiting for what he will do this summer.
At Atletico, the issue appears to have been that he wasn’t providing enough money to Robertson, but the players are also completely happy with his life at Anfield.
Check out Romano’s latest video updates on Robertson and other forwarding news below…
Andrew Robertson to Atletico Madrid is no longer
“I don’t expect Andy Robertson to go to Atletico Madrid anymore,” Romano said.
“Andy Robertson was a strong candidate for Atletico Madrid. They had a concrete conversation, and then the players took the time to decide his future.
“It is important to say that it is not possible because Atletico Madrid, as I told you several times here on the channel, wanted to pay a very small transfer fee or a free transfer for Andy Robertson from Liverpool.
“Liverpool wanted their condition to be respected, so the players took his time, so Atletico decided to go to a totally different kind of player in terms of age.
“So, it was also an update on Andy Robertson, waiting to see what he would decide for his future.”
Will Milos Kerkez replace Andrew Robertson?
Liverpool has now officially announced the signature of left back Milos Kerquez, a talented young Hungarian to join from Bournemouth.
This certainly means that Robertson is no longer Arne Slot’s first choice, but it may be worth keeping him 31.
Right-back Trent Alexander Arnold also leaves the club, which could be on the LFC side with a very new look next season.
