Showing the wheels to Bradley Ray on BSB’s Snetterton has become increasingly difficult, and Kyle Raide felt on Saturday that he could make a similar lap time in qualifying before recording a distant second registration in Race 1.
The reality champion put everything on the line in Race 2 – an early rush at Ray gave the rider of the NITITRITE competition to escape again before both Rory Skinner and Tommy Bridewell escaped, explaining his thought process for the late movement after the final race: Final Race::
“I felt like I was fast enough to be second in that race yesterday and just that race, but I was in a dogfight – obviously it was a 12-lap race so everyone’s tires were pretty new – and for the past few years, Tommy has always been a really good thing at that last corner.
So if I couldn’t go past Rory, Tommy was going to overtake me – so I tried it, left it all there and made a bit of a mistake – a little too fast, got a trash exit and both passed me and went to the line. ”
Not only did Ray arrive in a strong form, he also scored a triple at Donington Park, but also a triple of his name at Snetterton on his final visit in 2022, with Ride managing his expectations for the meeting.
“So I think the perfect weekend for me this weekend was three seconds, but yeah, I was just 4th place embarrassing and just got back there in two seconds, and I’m just one second behind Brad on 16 laps, so I made a huge, big improvement.
The speed was almost half a second faster per lap, so I would like to thank those who made the bike even better in the last one. I learned a lot about me and my bike this weekend.
Yamaha riders have detailed some changes that allowed Ray to remain in sight in the final 16 laps on Snetterton.
“This morning we put on wings mainly because of the wind, so I was already bothered by Willy, so we were grabbing the wings, so Brad has been a bit more confident throughout the day and a bit more confident there, so I was a bit more confident.
I couldn’t keep up with him, but I had a good fight, but I was happy to see him make some mistakes in places under pressure so I was approaching. ”
