Aston Villa has previously had a quiet summer transfer window, but it is expected that there will be some important moves by next week’s deadline. A new forward is required, and midfielders can also arrive at Villa Park.
Marco Bizot and Evann Guessand are the only senior signatures Aston Villa has made this summer, but the chances of multiple additions coming before the summer transfer period ends are anything. Chelsea’s Nicholas Jackson’s move is being promoted and he may not be the only Premier League star to participate.
Aston Villa is aiming to move Lucas Paketa
(via Givemesport) According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa is interested in West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta’s slow moves. The 27-year-old could be allowed to leave London Stadium before the deadline, despite being recently exempt from a spot fix claim by the free agency.
West Ham will allow Paketa to depart if they receive an offer in the £60 million region. This could add the reinforcements needed for Graham Potter’s team, who has got off to a very tough start to the new Premier League season.
Paketa has shown to be the best playmaker during his time at West Ham, but he’s been struggling for the past 12 months. Aston Villa Park may struggle to reach West Ham’s asking price due to PSR restrictions, but Unai Emery may be the one who will help him get back on track.
In addition to this, the report argues that Paketa prioritizes moving to Champions League clubs. This is bad news for Aston Villa, given that Tottenham is also being praised for its interest in Brazilian International. Because of these details, the deal can be difficult to come.
