The British and Ireland Lions won the most dominant victory on the tour, 48-0 on Saturday against invited Australia and New Zealand (Aunz).
Winger Duhan van der Melwe grabbed the hat trick of the attempt when the Lions were placed at eight tree clinics in Adelaide Oval.
The Lions also attempted from Ben White, Cione Twiprotou, Scott Cummings, Ronan Kelleher and Henry Pollock, but despite defending 14 Test players, the Ointz team was flat.
“My body hurts. I don’t deny that, but in terms of standing up and playing for this shirt (it’s very easy,” said No. 8 Ben Earle, who judged the players in the match.
“We had one training session, and for the past three or four weeks, I knew I had to rely on the basics and work.
“So most of the time we did it and we are really happy with it.
“I think we’ll be able to see how we want to move forward next week,” added series opener Earl to the Wallabies. “I think that’s a good start.”
Van der Melwe was one of the stars of the match, landing twice in the first half and earning his third try as Lions scored five consecutive wins on the Australian Tour after a clean sweep of the state team.
Meanwhile, Owen Farrell came to the jeers chorus from the crowd early in the second half, appearing on the tour for the first time since the controversial call-up by his father coach Andy Farrell, replacing it with a centre Who Jones outside.
While coach Farrell will be pleased with the player’s physicality and accuracy, there are other injuries after hooker Luke Cowan Dickey suffered a head knock late in the first half and was carried off the field.
