Benoit St. Dennis is scheduled to compete at UFC 315 on Saturday despite losing his former opponent when Joel Alvarez suffered a hand injury that knocked him out of the card.
On Monday, UFC officials are expected to face a return to the lightweight Kyle Preplek, which went 0-2 in promotion during a previous stint dating back to 2019, UFC officials announced. via Twitter.
With an overall record of 18-8, Prepolec will return to the UFC after accumulating a record of 4-1 since the first exit from the promotion. Priforek is currently on a three-game winning streak with all the victories that end by knockouts.
Priforek is trying to turn that momentum towards one of the top prospects in the lightweight division, with St. Dennis trying to bounce back two consecutive losses in a row.
Before these losses, St. Dennis won five times in a row, finishing with knockouts and submissions all five opponents. That winning streak won him a battle with former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier, who went to war, but in the end St. Dennis fell in submission in the second round.
He still earned night battle honors for that performance.
St. Dennis then lost to Renato Moicano this September on the UFC’s return to France. Now he first appeared in 2025, with St. Dennis portraying his battle with Prepolek on Saturday.
UFC 315 is headlined by welterweight champion Beral Muhammad placing his title on the title with emerging challenger Jack Della Maddalena.
The final order for UFC 315 has not yet been announced, but St. Dennis was originally planning to kick off the pay-per-view main card, but it remains to be seen whether it will retain the same slot now that Priforek has stepped up as an alternative.
