The New York Knicks will be able to advance to the conference finals for the first time since 2000, beating the Boston Celtics in Game 5 on Wednesday.
Celtics vs Knicks Game 5 Preview
The series ultimately turned its head over, following the devastating news of Celtics star Jason Tatum’s Achilles Tears.
Tatum came in one of the best playoff performances of all time, talliing 42 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the 16/28 shooting, and doing more before he went down with injuries.
It is remembered as an iconic duel with Knicks talisman Jalen Branson. He enjoys his own stellar night with 39 points, five rebounds and 12 assists, leading the hosts to victory.
New York is heading 3-1 back to Boston for Game 5 on Wednesday, but despite Tatum’s absence, the Celtics still support 4.5 points in the bet.
They’re comfortable in this environment and seemingly worth it in Money Line Play, as the Knicks rattled out the series with two consecutive victories at TD Garden and staged a 20-point comeback on both issues.
New York hasn’t played the Eastern Conference Finals since 2000, but Bath is certainly only around the corner and is patiently waiting for him to face the Indiana Pacers.
The Celtics will need more as Jalen Brown now moves to the first choice to expand the series, but he deals with his own injuries issues and the star simply isn’t aligned for the defender champion.
This could be the last time this Boston core has come together as the franchise will change this offseason for a new collective bargaining agreement.
Things are falling apart at the worst times for the Celtics. It’s no surprise to see the Knicks make the most of it tonight and wrap up the highlighted series victory.
