Though this season is not over yet, Celtic will be featured in Saturday’s Scotland Cup final at Hampden, but attention has already been paid to the crucial summer in Glasgow’s East End.
Brendan Rodgers is seeking to strengthen his team by demanding a busy transfer window and hopes that all business will be done quickly in the Champions League qualifiers, which are important to his diary at the end of August.
Potential opponents for that two-legged tie hoop include Bodo/Grimt, Basel, Dynamo Zagreb, Dynamo Kiev, Covenhabn, Kurvena Zvezda, Malmo, Karaba and Ferenvalos.
So, could the Celts land their next Scott Brown to help them?
Scott Brown’s Celtic Heritage
The word legend is often stolen in football very often, but Scott Brown is undoubtedly a genuine Celtic legend.
The table below highlights his incredible career in Hoops.

Brown’s tally of 615 appearances means he is ranked seventh on the club’s all-time list. Only Billy McNile, Alec McNair, Paul McStay, Roy Aitken, Danny McGlenn and Pat Bonner were all greats, the most performers at the club in European competitions, surpassing Kenny Dalglish’s record in 2017.
Brown joined Celtic from Hibernian in 2007 with a reported fee of £4.4 million. This was a record of the time between two Scotland clubs.
Celtic targeting Scott Brown 2.0
Daily Records’ Scott Burns reported last month that Celtic was about to sign Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller this summer, describing the hoop as a “long-term worshiper” and claiming the 18-year-old is valued at £4 million by the Steelmen.
The teenager was named Young Player of the Year by the Scottish Football Writers Association, following his breakout season at Far Park. Motherwell boss Michael Wimmer has confirmed this week that Starman is likely to leave the club this summer.
Both Ranger and Celtic are permanently linked to Miller’s movement, but Borussia Dortmund, Eintrack Frankfurt, Wolfsberg, Werder Bremen, Udinese and Royal Union Sangillowers are among those listed as “interested.”
So, what is all the hype? Well, especially since he had arrived from another SPFL club, both of them are sensational midfielders talents.
In fact, analyst Ben Matinson believes Miller could become a “world-class midfielder.” Meanwhile, football analysis Samuel Hutchinson describes him as “one of Europe’s most promising talents,” and praises not only his “physical fitness” but his technical abilities.
As for further indications of his potential, Scottish football reporter Kai Watson outlines how an 18-year-old can “control the game from midfield” as a playmaker who is deep lying or as a number of ten. His ability to not be bullied certainly has Brown’s echo there.
As you can see in the numbers outline below, Miller is highly ranked, including almost all the metrics, which is very impressive for teenagers.

Most notably, he was the most fouled player in the premiership this season, but it is also worth highlighting his assist and the numbers that created great opportunities.
What’s clear is that Miller is a talent for the Scottish generation. Brown was almost 20 years ago, so Celtic should do everything in their power to convince him to stay in Scotland and move to Parkhead.
