While Kershaw is not eligible to be activated from the injured list until May 17th, rehabilitation assignments with Triple A Oklahoma City are good news for an initiation rotation that already lacks Ace Blakesnell.
The 37-year-old pitched for the on August 30 when he left a start against the Arizona Diamondbacks in two innings after giving up a home run to Colvin Carroll. In 2024, the Car Show didn’t make its debut until July.
This season, Kershaw should be back at the beginning of the year despite undergoing two different offseason surgeries. The veteran southpaw has dealt with many injuries in recent years, but he does not want to cut his jersey due to illness.
“I don’t want (injury) to be the reason why I stopped playing,” he said. “I said, ‘I can’t do it, I don’t want to be anything hurtful (I); hopefully, I can always go out in my own words.”
Despite his absence throughout the postseason, Kershaw was shy about being in the top 10 best-selling jerseys in MLB. Future Hall of Famer came in 11th place. This speaks volumes of Kershaw’s impact on sports.
