Colby Covington went out to Michael Page to summon him.
During this week’s Q&A at O2 in London, Page said he loves punching Covington in the face. On past outings, Page (23-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) handed Shara Magomedov the first career defeat in the UFC Fight Night 250, but plans to return to Welterweight for the next match.
Meanwhile, Covington (17-5 MMA, 12-5 UFC) is about to rebound from his first career skid after consecutive defeats to former champions Leon Edwards and Joaquin Buckley.
“I didn’t pay attention to it. Covington told Page’s Callout’s Submission Radio. He was unconsciously knocked out in the B League. You never saw me lying unconsciously in the UFC octagon.
“So there’s no truth to that. He’s not a good fighter. He beat a one-eyed, glass-eyed man.
Covington is sure there is a style of doing simple work on the page if booked with a headliner.
“If it’s a five-round fight, I’m taking my life from him,” Covington said. “I’m going to take him down, I’ll own him, and I’ll hit a hole in his face. When people say mean things about me, I don’t like it. So if that happens, that’s what the UFC wants, then let’s do it. But he doesn’t have any charisma.
