Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persy are the three attackers who won the Premier League Golden Boots Award during their respective periods at Manchester United.
All three players were able to capture the hearts of the fanbase, with Irish Alex Ferguson claiming Old Trafford’s 13 top division titles, then transforming the club into one of the largest in the world.
However, since retiring at the end of 2012/13, the Red Devils have failed to finish at the top of England’s top flights, and the lack of offensive threat has played a major role in their lack of success.
Reuben Amorim’s team only scored 44 times in the final campaign of 38 leagues, adding a big buck for Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
Despite the work already being done by the hierarchy, more signatures are targeted within the last third to return to their former glory.
The latest on United’s new attacker hunt
Countless strikers have been constantly linked to their move to join United this summer, but the deal to land a new amulet is yet to be completed.
Duchamp Vlahovich, Nicholas Jackson, Randall Koro Muani and others are all touted in their moves towards Old Trafford, but they may have won against other targets.
Benjamin Sesco is the latest attacker to appear on Radar this summer, giving supporters a reason to be excited by the latest update from Fabrizio Romano.
He claims that Amorim representatives are in concrete consultation with the Red Devils about moving to the club, but they argue that they could face competition with Newcastle United for his signature.
Romano also states that the Slovenians are currently part of the club’s potential list, but in this window, any deal could cost £80 million.
Why is United’s latest target likely to be their own version of ISAK?
Alexander Isaac has been one of the premier league main attackers for the past few years and is a player to be feared when playing against the Magpie.
The Swedes registered 54 league goals in their three years in the UK, finishing with 23 goals last year, with only Liverpool’s Mohamed Sarah notching even further in 2024/25.
But he could also become a moving player, stating his desire to leave St. James Park this summer to take on a new challenge.
The Red Devils were on one side of the race, but given their recent poor finish on the UK top flight, he wants a move to a bigger club, with Liverpool leading the race for service.
It appears that he’s missing this window at the 25-year-old, but other options such as Sesko have been considered at United and could potentially be Amorim’s own forward version.
He has a very similar skill set, given their huge frames and strange all-round talent.
Both have huge ball strike capabilities, and the pair have registered the most powerful strikes in their respective divisions throughout their latest campaign.
When we dig into the statistics from 2024/25, the Slovenians were able to produce some impressive numbers. Many of them were better than those registered by Premier League ISAK.
Previously labelled “superficial” by analyst Antonio Mango, Cesco was able to post better shots with target accuracy last season, and later handed United a more accurate option in front of goal.

Given the lack of quality in the club’s forward area, Leipzigster’s impressive take-on success also allowed him to pass Amorim to a new dimension in the final third, and have the ability to torment the opposition on his own if necessary.
His key talent is further reflected in his incredible 59% airborne success rate, surpassing Isaac in such a division and could provide the Red Devils with the dominant focus they need for success.
His current asking price may appear to be around £80 million, but at just 22 years old, he has a bag of time to build on his early successes in the professional game.
If he could replicate such a form from the Bundesliga, he would be an added star that would allow him to once again be a force to consider in the Premier League, while having the ability to change the assets of the sides in the offensive region.
