here we go again…
After more than a year of impasse between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler, the two ultimately declined at UFC 303 last summer. Of course, the fight didn’t come true after “Mystic Mac” resigned due to the broken pinky toe.
At that time, fans were finally ready to move on from McGregor, so he acquiesced the idea that he would never step into the eighth inning again. Unfortunately, the Irish simply refuse to accept it.
Recently, McGregor took him to X and declared that he and “Iron” had “unfinished business.” Of course, it didn’t take long for Chandler to respond by writing, “Loading Unfinished Business…”.
Fighting fans aren’t interested in Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler
Needless to say, fans weren’t overstated to see Chandler and McGregor picking up from where they left off last year.
“Become the real thing, this fight is all about,” one user wrote to X. “Connor won’t step into that cage any time soon.”
“Bro is not feeding again,” another added.
“There’s no more hype in this fight.”
“Where can I bet on my house that this fight never happens?”
Conor McGregor is not competing within the Octagon as he lost two consecutive times to Dustin Poirier in July 2021. Overall, the original champion champion is 1-4 in the final five innings, including a loss to boxing icon Floyd Mayweather in August 2017.
McGregor’s only victory in the last nine years was a 40-second knockout against Donald Serone in January 2020. Before that, we had to go back to 2016 and find the instance where McGregor’s hand had risen in the Octagon.
Meanwhile, Michael Chandler is fresh from his third loss in a row after being properly slapped by Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314 in Miami.
Overall, “Iron” is 2-5 under the UFC banner, the only victory in the last five years to face Dumhoeker and Tony Ferguson.
