Anthony ‘Fluffy’ Hernandez wasn’t excited about his performance in Khamzat Chimaev’s championship victory at UFC 319.
“Bolz” provided one of the most dominant performances in title combat history, but many were not impressed by Simaev’s wrestling-rich attacks and were perceived as uninterested in finishing up Doricus Duplesis with five-round events in Chicago.
Hernandez, a rapidly rising middleweight candidate, repeated similar sentiments in a recent interview with MMA Fighting.
“I grew up with an impressive degree. I love strikes. I think I love the fighting side. Hamthat usually sends it. He sends. He does. He said.
“He made everything right. He played it safely and cleverly, like he should have done it for your first fight for the title. It was a very good and beautiful thing in a way.
“Fluffy” Hernandez meets “RDR” in a high-stakes middle-class conflict
Leaving his own showcase with Rome’s Dorisse in August, “Fluffy” will try to solidify himself as Chimaev’s next man when he squeezed all sides with former two-division one-world champion Reinier de Ridder and a secondary one-champion. The two will be headlined by UFC Vancouver when the promotion returns to “RainCity” on October 18th.
Hernandez will enter the match, where he sits with the sixth place candidate in the Division, riding on an eight-game winning streak.
