Anthony Edwards praised the performance of his Minnesota Timberwolves teammates in a 140-139 victory over the Denver Nuggets.
Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards led the team’s path with 34 points.
Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert also helped the young star score 45 points in a game where they saw Nikola Jokic dominate a triple double performance of 61 points.
Both teams continued to trade leads and as the game went into overtime for the second time, Russell Westbrook had the opportunity to seal the Nuggets’ victory with a layup, but he missed the chance.
On his next possession, Minnesota Timber Wolves’ Nickaire Alexander Walker won the ball and tried to shoot for corner three, but was fouled by Westbrook, earning three free throws, of which two free throws were won by winning the team.
Edwards built up high praise on Alexander Walker after his victory, calling him the “MVP” of the night.
Alexander Walker was great all night for the T-Wolf as he scored 26 points off the bench with efficient 50% shooting from the field.
At the end of the third quarter, Alexander Walker has already etched his name in franchise history as 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists, making him the third T-wolf player to leave the bench with 15+ points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the last five years.
He was an important offensive weapon for the Timberwolves, but his defensive capabilities propelled the team’s recent success in the regular season.
Speaking about him in a walk-off interview after the game, Anthony Edwards said:
“Whenever we needed him with the clutch, he made the right play, so he was ready for stretching, so what I did, he was the MVP tonight.”
The team was a bit predatory, with a few T-Wolf players for the suspension, but Edwards praised Alexander Walker for stepping, referring to the Golden State Warriors’ numbers statement.
He added:
Alexander Walker’s performance proved to have contributed to the victory that pushed the Timberwolves to seventh place in the West.
By playing six more games, the Timberwolves can continue playing and push to qualify directly into the playoffs.
Director Chris Finch gave Alexander Walker a flower to his flowers after Clutch’s performance.
“He made the Big Wing 3 and before that he was really good defensively all the games.
“He’s really big for us all year round and we’re really happy to have a game like this and win it in the way we were able to win. He was able to win for us, so he ran with us.
