Celtic, now garnering £400,000 a week, missed signing England International, starring from Parkhead.
Celtic’s record signature
Hoops have recently splashed cash on their standards and broke transfer records by taking Arne Engels to Celtic Park last summer.
The Celtic Chiefs may be looking to spend more success in Brendan Rodgers’ 2024/25 Champions League and make them even more competitive in Europe.

Three of Celtic’s three most expensive signatures have been happening since 2024, and asked if the hoops were busy before the 25/26 season, Rogers said: “Yes, I think so.
“Again, we have to look at the situation and adapt to it. We all know very well. Here is the player trading model, meaning we can get offers to some of our players in the summer.
“If I said I’m here now, you probably have a few of high quality, two or three players, but we just have to watch.”

Celtic’s most expensive sale ever
The Celts have moved some of their best talents in the past for big money.
However, before Rogers returned to Glasgow, Celtic missed signing the star-turned striker.
Celtic missed signing Ivan Toney on a £5 million flop
Before joining Brentford in 2020, Ivan Tony was wanted in Scotland while appearing in Peterborough United’s books.
Tony had actually been talking to the Celts, but admitted that he “wanted to be the main man,” so he moved to the bees.
“Then I went to Celtic, we talked to Celtic, and I think it’s the same there. I was three strikers or one of these things and when I was moving, I wanted to be the main guy. I first wanted to know that I was the main guy, despite coming back to compete with the other strikers.
“When I spoke to the Brentford manager, he said you were the main guy and I feel like no one is seeing you take your spot.”
It has proven to be a costly mistake for Celtic.
As we know with Tony, he promoted Brentford to the Premier League and helped him win a star on top flight, earning an England cap along the way.
Ivan Toney’s career in photography
In 2024, the centre forward sealed off a move in favor of Saudi Arabia along with Al Aliri, where he continued to score regularly, and now collects more than £400,000 a week.
That deal will run until 2028, so Celtic certainly looks back on this and hopes that instead of them signing Ajeti he offered Tony the role of his main man at the time.
