Canadian scratcher Jasmine Jasdavicius can’t wait to compete in his home country again.
Luckily, Jasudavicius doesn’t have to wait for the loaded pay-per-view event the UFC heads to the Bell Centre in Montreal and found by the two titles Tilts. But first, fans can see the Ontario native back inside the Octagon due to a clash with former straw queen Jessica Andrade.
Before aiming for his fifth consecutive victory at UFC 315, Jasudavicius spoke about what it would be like to compete in front of his hometown crowd, more specifically the icon of Canadian combat sports, St-Pierre.
“When I came out in the cage, I feel Canada has my back,” Jasdavicius said in an interview courtesy of Casino Canada. “I feel the same as GSP is going to be the same. I feel like his strengths are being downloaded to me. If he’s there, I think it would give me more motivation and more sparks.
“Incredible (walking in the footsteps of GSPs at Bell Centre). I always say I want to be a female GSP, and on behalf of Canada in Montreal, I feel like the stars are sparkling when I think about it.”
Jasudavicius details his training with Saint Pierre
Jasudavicius even had the opportunity to train with the “GSP” before returning to the Octagon. An experience that could prove invaluable for one of the most dangerous women in UFC history.
“To warm up, he was doing this marker sparring to turn on your nervous system, where you’re going to touch that person and give him a little mark. He was doing it with everyone in the gym.
“It was the first time we’ve met. He did it with everyone there and he definitely didn’t remember, but of course it was a very meaningful moment for me. It was really good to see him again in Saudi Arabia.
