Patchy Mix believes he is the best in the world, and at UFC 316 he aims to prove that.
After dominating the competition at Bellator for many years, Mix will make its long-awaited Octagon debut this Saturday night in Newark, New Jersey.
Prior to their highly anticipated clash, Mix and Bautista traded blows with the microphone at Thursday’s press conference at Garden State.
“I will prove it this Saturday, and I believe I am the best bantamweight in the world,” Mix said without hesitation.
After being asked if he was overlooked, Bautista reveals that he is the person who is looking straight at the other person.
“I’m not overlooked,” Bautista said. “Obviously, I’m paying all the attention. He has these aspirations, but he’ll have to pass me on a Saturday night.
Patchy Mix and Mario Bautista enter their battle on the same seven-game winning streak
Both fighters walk to UFC 316 and are riding an impressive winning streak. Mix has won his final seven fights, with all but two of them coming in the distance inside.
Like his opponent, Bautista saw his hands grow up on seven straight wins, including a somewhat controversial split decision victory over featherweight legend Jose Aldo in October. Before that, he put together the first round finishes with Brian Kelleher and Guido Canetti.
