Sato Pagoda injury update
Sasaki began three rehabs in Triple A Oklahoma City to return from a shoulder collision, but manager Dave Roberts said he needs to make at least one before he becomes an option for the major league team.
“The idea is to lead him into five innings (at the start of his fourth rehab),” Roberts said. “For us, we are just trying to build him up and build him up to perform at this point, and this is Loki’s good learning process as our starters pitch well.
“The speeds need to be consistent, the strikeslows need to be consistent,” added Roberts. “It’s just the overall command.”
If Sasaki Pitch begins rehabilitation on Tuesday, he could theoretically join the team as a bullpen option next week. However, due to his inconsistency, the team may want to see some good outings before he returns.
Max Muncy Injury Update
Muncie was initially expected to return with an oblique injury by the end of this weekend. However, illness pushed back his return timeline and the were back within next week.
The will return to Japan on Monday, September 8th. This could be Muncie and LA’s target dates.
Tommy Edman injury update
Edman is beginning his triple-A OKC and rehabilitation assignments as the team’s designated batsman on Tuesday. Roberts said he will only do DH and Playcenter Field during his rehabilitation stint, and is likely to be keeping pace for his return next week.
Kyle hurts injury renewal
Hart, who is recovering from Tommy John’s surgery, also began rehabilitation assignments with Triple A on Tuesday. He could be a late option for the from the bullpen.
Alex Bessia’s injury update
Vesia is scheduled to begin rehabilitation assignments this week, allowing him to get him on track shortly after a minimum 15-day injury list stint that will be on September 6th.
