cup? Volk doesn’t have to smell the cup!
Finally, UFC interviewer Nina Marie Daniel brought the scoop battle fans have been waiting for. Does the former world featherweight champion wear a cup while training? This is a question that bothered MMA’s hardcore and casual dreams.
Thankfully, Nina’s drama was courageous enough to step into the ring with “Great” and found all the arguments firsthand and brought an end.
Nina: “Are you wearing a cup now?” she asked in a video on her YouTube channel.
Volkanovski: “Um, I’m not.”
Nina: “Do you know someone who always wears a cup? Merab! He never trains without it.”
Volkanovski: “I had enough kids so I don’t have to worry about it anymore!”
Alexander Volkanovsky appears to bounce off the skids of his first two fights
After suffering back-to-back knockouts against Ilia Toplia and Islamic Makachev last year, Volkanovsky took a break for the past two years to heal his body.
Now, “Th Great” is away from the day he was highly anticipated from the octagon. He tries to regain the featherweight title he lost to “El Matador” in 2024. Instead, Volkabnoski faces Diego Lopez for the free 145 pound crown after Topria chases the lightweight gold and leaves the belt behind.
Volkanovski vs. Lopes will head to UFC 314 this Saturday night, with the promotion returning to Miami for a loaded pay-per-view event inside the Caseya Center.
The tap also features a five-round co-main event clash between former Bellator champion “Iron” Michael Chandler and Paddy Pinblett, as well as a featherweight grim match between fast rising knockout artist Jean “Lord” Silva and Hitler. Empath Apologer Bryce Mitchell.
