The Los Angeles opened season 8-0, but have since hit a rough patch and lost six of their last nine games.
The have lost three consecutive series: the Philadelphia Phillies, the Washington Nationals and the Chicago Cubs, and have recently surpassed 20-5 at home with Chicago.

The lineup has been characteristically worsening over the past few weeks. The team’s nine games losing streak since April 1st, with the ‘ lineup totaling OPS of .651, ranking 24th in major league baseball.
The top of the lineup hasn’t met their bills, but the bottom of the lineup was the worst in the league. The 7-9 batters from Order have a total OPS of .508 this season and are ranked 28th in MLB, ahead of the Chicago White Sox and New York Mets.
Since April 1st, the last three spots in the lineup are It’s the worst in MLB, with an OPS of .436.
These batters include mostly Max Muncy, Miguel Rojas, Andy Pages, Kiké Hernández, Austin Barnes, Chris Taylor and others.
It’s clear that the need to make a difference, and fortunately for them, they have a player in Oklahoma City who is currently exceeding expectations at Haison Kim.
The signed Kim with a three-year, $12.5 million contract this offseason and could be a five-year agreement. Los Angeles knew that Kim needed time when she adapted to pitching in the big leagues. Therefore, after a slow spring, they chose to option him to triple-A.
Kim was sensational as a batsman for OKC, especially recently. In 2019, he cut .290/.362/.581 on three home runs, 11 extra-bass hits, 13 RBI and four stolen bases on OPS of OPS.

He has multiple hits in six of his 14 games, and has three home runs in the final three games, including Saturday’s multi-homemer game, with a whopping 462 feet in the second game.
When the signed Kim, they raved about his Plastic Gloves on Nibase. The team also played him in Shortstop and Center Field this spring, promoting his versatility.
The need sparks and Kim is the perfect option. He was the daily double baseman against right-handed pitching, allowing Tommy Edman to move to center field that gives two defenders above Rubberge.
Additionally, he could probably become the ninth bat and serve as the table setter at the top of the order.
Kim’s Triple A adjustment has already paid off, and the desperately need a lineup spark for the big league roster.
Shaking things and giving Kim the opportunity he’s justly won.
