James Outman has an impressive start this season with Triple A. The Center Fielder was recognized as PCL Player of the Week on Monday, according to X’s Comet Oklahoma City.

Outman averaged .462 while recording a total base of 12 hits, two home runs, five RBIs and 21 over the week. All this season, Outman has cut .245/.314/.491, hitting 19 RBIs in 26 games with six home runs.
This is the second PCL Player of the Week of the Week that Outman has acquired in his career. He was honored on August 28, 2022 with the Oklahoma City . Outman won two more Player of the Week Awards in the 2018 Pioneer League and in the 2021 Texas League.
The Los Angeles did not include Outman on their domestic first-day roster this season. Instead, centre fielder Andy Page played the starting role in the position.
However, Outman has become a regular for the to call from the minor leagues.
Outman spent the most time in the major leagues in 2023 when he played 151 games with the . The two NL rookies this month cut .248/.353/.437, scoring 23 home runs and 70 RBIs that year.
The 27-year-old made 53 appearances for Los Angeles last season, but his offensive production fell, cutting .147/.256/.265.
Outman appeared in Los Angeles in 2023 in three postseasons. However, the decided to leave Outman from the postseason roster in 2024 through a World Series run.
MLB Insider Bob Knightgale told Nation’s Doug McCain that Outman is a potential trade option for the this season. Nightengale said that scenery may need to be changed to get an opportunity for Outman to increase his MLB experience, and Chicago White Sox is reportedly interested.
Whether Outman will remain in Los Angeles or start a new chapter in his career with a different franchise, his recent performance suggests a bright future for the outfielder.
