Novak Jjokovic, who won seven of his 24 Grand Slam titles at Wimbledon, added another milestone on Saturday.
Djokovic beat Serbian Miomile Kekumanovic 6-3, 6-0, 6-4 to advance to the 16th round, joining Martina Navratilova (120) and Roger Federer (105) to win 100 singles matches at the All-England Club.
“Wimbledon is a favorite and dream tournament not only for himself, but for the majority of tennis players,” Djokovic said. “Most kids dream of playing here and winning here. I’m blessed to be able to do it many times, and the history that I can do in my favorite tournaments, I’m blessed.”
Djokovic, 38, who played in his 20th Wimbledon tournament, will then face No. 11 Alex Deminaurus in the quarterfinal spot.
“Obviously, I’m very grateful that I am. I have said many times, tennis has given me who I am, and I have given me the incredible things in life I can experience, especially at this age, I try not to take anything for granted.
The victory also marked Djokovic’s fourth round of his 68th Grand Slam, making him second to Federer (69). He also joined Federer as the only man to win over 100 matches in two different majors since the start of the opening era in 1968.
Navratilova, a nine-time Wimbledon singles champion, won 120 singles victory. Eight-time champion Federer won with 105 singles.
When asked how it sounded to join the company, Djokovic replied, “It’s very historic and very good.”
Djokovic made just eight sets of errors in two sets before Kekmanovic made him work for his third victory.
