Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) head coach Justin Langer will not continue his role in the franchise in the next IPL season.
According to reports, Langer is now saying goodbye to LSG. Currently, he doesn’t have much conversation with the senior LSG players and Zaheer Khan is handling things right now.

Justin Langer Limited Interaction
LSG head coach Justin Langer is also unsatisfied with the team’s performance during the ongoing IPL season. Langer was acquired by Indian head coach Gautam Gautam Gambir’s recommendation at IPL 2023 when Gautam Gambir was the leader of the Lucknow franchise.
LSG played in the playoffs in his first two seasons, but in his final two seasons, LSG was removed from the league stage and Langer was appointed head coach in 2023.
According to a report from Cricblogger, Langer was unable to build chemistry with the LSG team, particularly LSG mentor Zaheer Khan, who participated in the IPL 2025 setup.
The interaction and collaboration between Langer and Zahir is not smooth, and it hurts the team’s environment.
Zaheer Khan is in charge of Justin Langer
The role of LSG mentor Zaheer Khan has grown due to Langer’s actions at the LSG camp. Zaheer is responsible for the team and supports young players in practice sessions.
A nearby source said Zaheer is currently running the entire team. LSG Mentors are much more animated throughout the game compared to other LSG coaching staff.
LSG may announce how to say goodbye to head coach Justin Langer in the coming days or months. This is also done after reviewing the performance of the LSG at IPL 2025.
If Langer breaks up at LSG camp, Zaheer could be Lucknow’s next head coach.
The poor form of LSG continues
LSG launched the IPL 2025 campaign with a heartbreaking loss against the Delhi Capitals on one wicket. Lucknow won four of his first six matches at IPL 2025.
Nicholas Forlan played a major role in his early success, but also immersed his LSG performances when poverty began to fall cheaply. They are currently winning four consecutive games in a row, and have been eliminated against Sunrise’s Hyderabad since last night’s season.
LSG skipper Rishabh Pant didn’t lead his team well. The pants didn’t contribute to his bat at all, and their main bowler, Rabbi Bishnoy, also failed to play at IPL 2025.
The only positive news for them this season is Digvesh Rathi. The Mystery Spinner scored 14 wickets in 12 matches against the 8.18 economy. Howver, his notebook celebration cost him a lot as he was fined several times before he was handed a one-game ban.
