The Milwaukee Bucks were rocked by a catastrophic injury to Damien Lillard.
After returning from Blot’s thrombotic diagnosis, another crushing set-off threatens Damien Lillard’s career.
Damien Lillard was seriously injured just six minutes after the Milwaukee Bucks’ game four playoffs against the Indiana Pacers.
Lillard had to be helped by the court, so it was later confirmed that he was suffering from a torn Achilles.
The 35-year-old is currently facing a long recovery, with his teammate Giannis Antetokounmpo supporting him to bounce him off.
In the short term, the Bucks are still alive in the 2025 NBA playoffs, but they stare at the elimination AR 3-1 in the series.
The Milwaukee Bucks crowd was devastated by Damian Lillard’s injuries and forced to readjust, causing the team to fall into a 129-103 home defeat.
A few dollar players struggled, and Gary Trent Jr. scored six points from his 37-point performance in Game 3.
Kyle Kuzma’s struggle lasted only three points in total, but Brook Lopez contributed just six points.
One player alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo, who produced it was a mid-season addition, Kevin Porter Jr.
Porter JR got off the bench and scored 23 points along with Milwaukee’s third-highest scoring game, five rebounds and six assists.
Speaking after the game, Porter JR said he knew that many extra responsibilities would fall on his own path, and felt he could contribute after filling out Lillard when he came out at the end of the regular season.
He explained: “This business is the business of the next guy and things happen.
“He was out of the game he was, so I had to play a bigger role and as soon as that play happened, I already stepped up, I had to lift everything.
Porter Jr. certainly did his part, but the combination of crowds and ruthless pacers meant there was too much for the Bucks to overcome.
He added: “Personally it means a lot to me. I was one of the high school students who had the luxury of meeting him very early.”
The Indiana Pacers will host Game 5 and have the opportunity to clinch the series. Kevin Porter Jr. hasn’t given up, and the Milwaukee Bucks say they feel they can be surprised.
“If any team can come back from 3-1, it’s this team, and we all believe in that.
“We’re desperate right now. We’re going to watch the film and see the extra effort we’re trying to do. Hopefully, we’ll fix them.”
