LeBron James’ future with the Los Angeles Lakers appears to be hanging from thread.
LeBron James has offered the Los Angeles Lakers an NBA championship, but it feels like the organization is gearing up to move on from the 4X NBA MVP.
Rumors of James’ departure began to surface after his decision to choose a $52.6 million player option. However, his agent, Rich Paul, revealed that James is outraged by trade rumors.
However, the rumors have not yet been stopped. Rhymes’ Dan Wooke recently claims that the Lakers only want their contract expired in exchange for the 40-year-old. The LA Clippers are one of the teams that fit that description.
With Woike’s points in mind, teams that can trade with James should have more than $550 million in expired transactions, tailoring their large paychecks next season.
Even if the Clippers meet that requirement, NBA analyst Nick Wright doesn’t want James to play for the Lakers’ raucous neighbors.
The reason behind this is Kauhi Leonard’s potential involvement in potential trade. After all, the Lakers probably want a Claw in any deal around the King.
“For me, this is tough because for Kawi, the team will be “undetectedly worse” than the Lakers team you’re on right now.”
He added: “Even if you’re trading all the spare pieces, not for Kawi… yeah, I don’t like it. Is that even better than what the Lakers have now?”
In the second scenario, Wright doesn’t think LeBron James, James Harden and the Cawi Leonard trio are good in the postseason.
He denounced Harden’s inability to bolster the game in the postseason and Kawi’s history of injuries.
James undoubtedly enjoyed the best spells of his NBA career with the Miami Heat in the early 2010s. He also won two NBA championships with the team.
Interestingly, except for the Clippers, they are the only team to win over $50 million on an expired contract to potentially trade James.
It was a recent comment from Udonis Haslem that added fuel to the rumors. Haslem invited James into the heat as his fanbase pointed out that he would welcome him to South Beach.
While uncertain clouds are floating around James’ future with the Lakers, he has won his official trade with the team as he has won his 23rd year in the NBA.
