2016 Formula One World Champion Nicolosberg believes Lewis Hamilton is becoming “increasingly impatient” at Ferrari, following another difficult weekend at the Canadian Grand Prix.
Hamilton finished first behind Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc and finished sixth at Circuit Gills Villeneuve on Sunday.
The seven-time world champion race was ruined after he ran the groundhog.
The incident completely damaged his Ferrari’s floor, costing him about 20 points of downforce, which amounted to 0.5 seconds per lap.
Hamilton had remained close to Oscar Piastri, who had run right in front of him until that point, so he had driven a solid race up until that point.
Teammate Leclerc had been racing smoothly from the eighth of the grid, but his challenge slowed down when he switched to medium tires after his second pit stop.
Speaking after a race in Canada during SkySport F1 coverage, Rosberg currently discussed the pressure on Ferrari.
“There’s a lot of pressure there in Ferrari,” Rosberg said. “You talk to some people, and of course, according to Italian media, Vassar’s role is under threat.
“And Lewis is also clearly increasingly panicked.
“It’s also very unlucky, but I have to say that in the last few races, there are always some issues.”
Ferrari targeting Silverstone upgrades
Ferrari reportedly pins their hopes for an upgrade with Silverstone.
It is expected to center the rear of the car to repair the SF-25 suspension.
Ferraris are unable to drive with optimal ride quality, and they manage board wear throughout the race, especially after double DSQ in China.
“Let’s hope. There’s all hope in the Silverstone upgrade, and it has to work for them,” added Rosberg.
“The chance to win the Ferrari championship is next year, not next year, so it was a Silverstone upgrade and it’s done.
“They have to concentrate 100% next year because that’s the opportunity, so they have to weigh it down too.”
