Lewis Hamilton shares insights into Brad Pitt’s driving skills while filming for upcoming Formula One films.
Created by Apple Original Films and co-produced by seven-time world champion Hamilton, the film watches Pitt character Sonny Hayes make a comeback to F1 with a fictional APXGP team and partner with Rookie teammate Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris).
Having completed his blockbuster switch to Ferrari for the 2025 season, Hamilton revealed that ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, the Hollywood star went on a track day with the Los Angeles Pitt to help prepare for the role.
“I remember the first day I worked with Brad. We were in Silverstone… We actually had a little track day together in Los Angeles,” Hamilton said Thursday in Montreal.
“And then I drove, he drove right away. I already knew he already felt he knew where the line was. He already felt a bit of it, so it wasn’t entirely alien.
“You know, I used to work as a driver coach as a kid just to make a little money while I was racing, and there were some pretty bad drivers along the way.
“And I wasn’t really able to get on track with Damson, but both experienced training, and they were both very open-minded and lived really deeply into what it takes to be a racing driver.
Pitt’s text Hamilton reveals shock
Hamilton added that he texted the Pitt after driving the Formula 2 space machine, speaking about his admiration for the Formula 1 driver.
“He said, ‘Yeah, what my body is going through when I’m going through these different categories, especially when he gets to Formula 2, he’s like ‘shit’,” Hamilton said.
“He texts me after the test.
The new film will be on display on the F1 grid before the Monaco Grand Prix and will be released internationally on June 25th.
