According to Germany’s Sky Plettenberg, Liverpool and Arsenal are currently leading the race for Bournemouth defender Dean Huyssen.
The 20-year-old centre-backset contract has a £50 million release clause, making it within reach of both the top two in the Premier League and Real Madrid, who are believed to be interested.
Bayern Munich also likes his quality, but to secure the necessary funds, the Bundesliga champions had to complete some sales first, and therefore Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Ta quickly focused on becoming a free agent.
However, regardless of the intentions of the Real and Bayern, Huyssen is expected to choose between Liverpool and Arsenal, and his decision is expected to come soon.
This season, Huijsen has made 30 Premier League appearances as the terrifying side of Andoni Iraola, the 25-year-old starter. He is about 6’6 inches tall and is important in the set pieces at both ends of the pitch, finding the back of the opposition net three times for Cherry.
Understand that arsenal and Liverpool are currently in Dean’s pole position #huijsen. A decision is expected soon. #LFC
Real Madrid remains enthusiastic about him.
The move to Bavaria appears unlikely at this stage as time is not on their side. To sign Huijsen, Bayern has to do… pic.twitter.com/qtjyjblcij
