I feel something is different. For better or worse (although it usually gets better), Liverpool had a tight lip locked in his forwarding with Jurgen Klopp at the helm.

It often felt like a controversial subject, but the FSG’s savvy crew was able to make it work.

But with this new iteration something changed. This reconstructed hierarchy. Arne Slot confirmed Liverpool is planning a massive investment this summer, winning the Premier League in their first season with Anfield Helm.

Liverpool is fine. However, MerseySiders wants to cash in to several people to maximize the scope of their investment.

Darwinnes is the expected surplus as the plan is mapped for a newer, more prolific center forward. However, the struggling Uruguiron is not the only step forward at risk of being sold, and Luis Diaz has also emerged as a potential sale.

And that’s despite his surprising recent form for the Reds.

Lewis Diaz’s final form

Liverpool is set to lift the Premier League title in the coming weeks, and Diaz has helped slot teams rebound from a recent patch of form to capture recent equipment contributions.

He scored 15 goals and raided eight assists in all Liverpool competitions this season, but Diaz might be among those sold this summer.

He was directly involved in the goal with just one of Liverpool’s opening nine Premier League fixtures in 2025, winning the Wolves 2-1 in February, and Diaz contributed to the past five outings, scoring in each of the Reds’ most recent matches, supporting three consecutive games.

A man playing for his future? The winger has been routinely linked to travelling to Barcelona over the past few years, with offside recently revealing that Liverpool will entertain the offer this summer at a £69 million ballpark.

Contrary to what the Formbook suggests, Liverpool should actually cash out this summer to get the most value from Columbia’s Maverick.

He was 30 years old by the time his current deal expired in June 2027, and had been flowing in decline before the finish line for much of his time at Anfield.

Liverpool was able to bank a cute penny by selling him while the sky high in his stock.

Liverpool is chasing Diaz’s successor

According to football insiders, Liverpool may finally get Anthony Gordon this summer.

Liverpool had been in talks to sign England International last summer, but the deal was in vain when an alternative was hit to avoid PSR.

Liverpool has maintained strong interest, and it has been reported that winning a winger would suit United more than other big-money stars Bruno Guimares and Alexander Isaac linked to Liverpool.

Transfer focus

Mega Money deals, controversial moves, famous flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinions across Football FanCust.

Why Liverpool should sign Anthony Gordon?

Gordon, who was awarded the Newcastle Player of the Year in 2023/24, has returned to Merseyside to link with Liverpool and is released from the academy as the age of 11.

Liverpool never came to fruition, but as producer Andrew Musgrove said, Liverpool has been a key part of Eddie Howe’s success at St James Park over the past few years, maintaining interest in the “special” player who defeated the slot Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final last month.

He has registered Newcastle’s 44 target involvement since the start of last season, and has seen the club’s chief put a £100 million price tag on him to stop nasty suitors in the past. However, now that United’s attitude has changed, its noble reputation may be a bit glaring.

Playing back to Slot’s tactical approach, Gordon is also positionally flexible forward. The 23-year-old, a primarily left winger, regularly featured on the right side to meet Newcastle’s needs, but found prolific success from a more central berth.

Gordon’s arrival will see Diaz on sale, but this will allow him to work well with Liverpool’s Cody Gakupo. He settles down on his left flank.

He was stronger in front of his recent goals, but the underlying data suggests that Gordon, a 5-year junior in South America, could surpass him.

It is also the fact that after his success in 2023/24, Diaz has actually made improvements since Klopp resigned to Anfield.

This may seem to shake things up with the goodwill of a Liverpool guy, but it actually strengthens his sales debate and replaces him with Gordon’s young star.

Given that Liverpool’s interest goes back to last summer, there are all the reasons he could be successful in the title-winning Reds Squad, and potential sales for Diaz could be possible, it may just be that they are aiming for it as the market opens the stalls.
