Magomed Ankalaev’s coach predicts a big weekend for fighter jets.
This Saturday, Ankalaev defends a light heavyweight title against Alex Pereira in the main event of the UFC 320. This is the title rematch of the UFC 313 battle, in which Ankalaev Dethrone Pereira made a very close decision. Since then, Pereira and his camp have made sure that many of the “Poatans” were not properly prepared for the match, but Ankaraev coach Suhrav Magomedov believes this time it is more dominant for his fighters.
“Alex goes to the clinch, fights. Why? Because in stand-up, nothing will work for him,” Magomedov said. UFC 320 Countdown. “…Alex Pereira, you can’t surprise us. You can’t surprise us, not stand-up work, you can’t surprise him. He can’t surprise him. His techniques are standard, his strikes are standard. He’s an old kickboxer.
“And I’m sure everyone can, when Magomed opens, he surprises everyone, and even a better striker than Alex Pereira, with pure stand-up.”
In their first fight, Ankaraev actually overtook Pereira, winning the match without getting one takedown, repeatedly tagging “Poatan” with a big punch. And on Saturday, Ankarayev is hoping to do more of it for his rematch.
“From my first fight with Alex, I saw many moments I didn’t follow after rewatching it. Countdown show. “The fight will be like we control it.”
The UFC 320 will be down in Las Vegas this Saturday, with a title fight for the bantamweight co-main event between Merab Dvaliszvili and Cory Sandigen.
