Man United struggled to sell unnecessary players during the summer 2025 transfer, but in 2026 it could be the same. Marcus Rashford was a player who could not be removed forever, but he hopes to do so at the end of this season.
Rashford joined Barcelona on loan and he began a strong life with the Giants at Rally Gun. They have the option to sign him forever next summer, but they are looking to trade at a lower price.
Barcelona helped seal the favourable Marcus Rashford Deal
According to Keith Wynes (via Football Insider), Barcelona is likely to do so, with Man United returning to the corner alongside Rashford.
“All he wants to do is play for Barcelona, and players stick to it that way, and of course there seems to be little leverage in the sales club, so I think they’re in a very difficult position with this.
“I think Man United’s ship might have sailed because Rashford wants to stay in Barcelona. He scored those goals against Newcastle. Obviously, he now feels a little more love in Barcelona.
“United realizes that turning Man United’s tanks around is a very expensive movement. That’s what we’re seeing. They have to suffer a huge loss before they can do this right, so now is a tricky day in the boardroom at Old Trafford.”
It remains to be seen how Rashford’s situation unfolds, but his man’s united career seems completely different.
