Manchester United are keen to sign Lyon at the end of the season with Lyon attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki, and they will face competition with Liverpool.
The 21-year-old is exceptional for the French outfit, and he has 10 goals and 18 assists in all competitions. He was impressed with League One and Europa League this season. There’s no doubt that he’s enough to play for a big club like Manchester United. He could be an exceptional acquisition for them.
Manchester United need more creativity and goals from the middle, and they are overly dependent on Bruno Fernandez. Signing with the French International will help remove the pressure on Portugal international.
Cherki has received high praise throughout Europe and has previously been described as a “very special” player and “incredible talent.” He was able to develop into a top-class player with proper guidance, and British regular football was able to accelerate his development.
According to reports from Miller, Manchester United are currently leading the race to secure his signature, but they will face competition from Liverpool’s bitter rivals. The midfielder is valued at £20 million, and it remains to be seen where he will ultimately be.
Can Liverpool sign Rayan Cherki?
Liverpool could use more creativity in the final third, and it remains to be seen whether they can beat Manchester United to his signature. The 21-year-old will want to compete at the highest level and fight for the major trophies. Liverpool was able to provide him with that platform. In comparison, Manchester United will not compete in the Champions League next season after a rebuilding period.
It would be interesting to see Cherki decides for the summer. Both clubs have financial muscle to pay the asking price, and he was able to prove that it was a bargain for them.
